Question Is Digg getting corrupt ?
Digg user having high popular ratio are being paid for promoting articles on Digg. His/her popularity will alow numerous stories to reach the Digg Home Page. This will in turn harm the reputation of Digg . The members are gaining huge income from referrals . This is not a nice thing . What do you guys thing ??

Sad yo tell you that you are late on this. There is people that are making 100k a year from promoting people articles on digg. I read a article last year. A guy has 40 accounts with around 150 friends with 40 accounts making over $100k a year from promoting articles on digg.

That is so true.

I wouldn't classify Digg as corrupt. It's not like Digg is doing it. It's just a few talented people knowing how articles can rank well in Digg and exploiting it.

It would be like saying white hat SEO is corrupt as you're doing what SEs like. Is that being corrupt?

Most social bookmarking sites are pretty easy to get a lot of traffic from if you pay for XXX bookmarks or more even. So in your reasoning most of them are corrupt

If they know how to get some massive Diggs, kudos for them in my opinion. I don't think Digg is corrupt even slightly. As tsdesigns mentioned, if so, then most of them are corrupt.

Yes mostly people would like to fool the system by exchanging bookmarks . So the users should think on how worth the Digg given is and also the way of paid diggers . If you find someone who is a paid digger please do inform the Digg authorities Hope all will bet the maximum benefit from social networking and social bookmarking .

Why would someone do that? Lets say I have a contact that can get me XXX diggs on any article/page I like for a fee, why would I report them? Seems to me like they would be a useful contact for getting traffic.

Not that I do know anyone like that, but it was more to get accross my point.

Hey if you pay you need not report but is the traffic really worth ?? They will just stay around for seconds and just leave off , while that bring you sales /conversions . Just to get traffic you can prefer it tsdesigns

It is not worth for getting real interested visitors

No, but some people are only looking for traffic.

Getting on digg's frontpage can bring you a hell of a lot of traffic. That coming to a site/page which has ads on it (CPM are probably better, pop up/unders, anything really) and it will probably earn you quite a bit.

The traffic is well worth it if you get a digg effect. I never paid someone to do it, but I would pay them again if the conversion was as good as the last time I had it. Sure it ate up my bandwidth really quickly, but I don't mind earning quite a bit via the traffic. While some will be untargetted traffic, a good portion of it is not in my opinion.

Usually the audience that visits Digg are people that would be interested in my topic, so I'm cool with people that can take my page to the front page.

I know someone. I spent a lot time talking to him. I know for sure you will have to pay for a lot of them to get on the front page. They cost $0.50 each with a minimum of 50 maximum of 100 within 24 hours. 100 will not get you on the front page. When I am ready to hit the front page it will be a article I know they will read! Bloggers may hate it but digg users will love it. lol.

Getting diggs at $0.50 each?

I think it is expensive also. I was getting diggs for $0.10 each when I was making people to digg my websites.

$0.50 is really a bit too high. I also used to get Diggs for $0.10 - $0.15 depending on the people and how desperate I was to get some traffic. I wouldn't dare to buy 100 Diggs at $0.50 a piece when a $0.10 Digg is the same as a $0.50 Digg.

I don't care the price. Just knowing my friend saves me a lot of time trying to find people to pay $0.10 a digg. Time is has more value than money any day.
