Default Proxy Discussion

I know proxy doesn't pay much, but it's easy money.

I use to own 5+ proxies but sold them a week before school vacation.

Now that school is coming for most students, it's that time to open new ones.

Anyone else currently in the proxy business?

How do proxies earn money.
Is it through ads/affiliate/referrals links that they display?

If we get less money as you said. it might mot be sufficient. Am i right?
I mean proxy hosting is costly right?

Proxies can earn money on PPC, CPM and pop up/pop under ads.

Adsense for PPC
Adbrite for CPM
Adversal for pop unders.

I use Adsense and Adbrite for the homepage and use Adbrite for proxified pages. I also want to use Adversal for proxified pages.

Proxy hosts don't charge much.
Here are some examples
TMZHosting - Proxy Hosting Plans | cPanel, Fantastico, Fast Speeds!
Proxy Hosting | Proxy Host | PHP Proxy | Zelune Proxy | Glype Proxy | Proxie

Basically people buy a tonne of $1 domains (.info) with a catchy url. They trow up a free script and template, add adsense.

Then simply submit it to proxy lists and spam yahoo groups. Just one of those proxies will make at least $5 usually within that month, if not more.

Proxies are so easy to make, you could setup and promote 5 every hour.

if you own a network of 200 proxies that get good traffic its easy $xxxx a month.

I've known people who have made quite a bit of money through proxies, but I don't really like them personally, it's too repetitive work. Then once your proxie gets banned from a lot of places it becomes pretty useless.

My old proxies got banned from schools and work places, and it still got traffic.
Some people just like to surf the net anonymously. Who knows what they use it for.

Yeah, still getting traffic, but it'd be much more if you weren't banned from those places. Giving you a better earning.

Of course, but you really can't stop those kinds of things.

I have seen many scripts that supposably block sites like Websense before they block your proxy. But they seem to be a scam or get outdated quick.

To get huge money from these proxies.
Our proxy needs to be more popular, but there are thousands of proxies out there.
If we want to make our proxy popular, it may be very difficult.

Not really.

If you only have one proxy then yes, it's hard to make a lot of money from it. But if submitted to the right places then it can get a hell of a lot of traffic.

Submit to proxy lists, proxy newsletters, etc. If you can get a good SERP in a good keyword for it then good luck

At least this is what I was told when I was going to get into proxies (then decided agains't it).

In the past, when click amounts were much higher, I was earning quite a bit off of proxies. I would flip proxies. Build them up for a week or so, then flip each one for a few hundred dollars. Some weeks, I would be bringing home $2k from flipping these proxies.

Too bad clicks have gone down the drain. Anyone know how you can still make a good bit off of proxies ? If you say adsense, I might have to smack you :$

Adsense for PPC
Adbrite for CPM
Adversal for pop unders.

With that, you can make a decent amount.

Didn't I say if you said Adsense, I would have to slap you. Just kidding man. I've tried to get accepted for Adversal but they don't seem to accept proxies, and once you been denied, no matter how many times you re-apply, they continue to deny you

lol

I have some friends that own a proxy site and they use Adversal. They seem to have no problems.

I will apply for Adversal with a proxy in the future, see how that goes.

I dropped out of the proxy business. The money just isn't worth it in my opinion. I could put a lot more of my time advertising my other sites than my proxies. I've found that the income from proxies don't exactly grow like exponential graphs, which with my other sites, do. Also, the market is not just saturated. It's just sooo saturated that you'd be lucky to be making a few dollars a day.

I don't plan on keeping them long term. If I could get them making $1 - $3 a day for a week then sell it I would be fine with that. Knowing the type of person I am I would try to do at least 5 - 10 of them a week.

Thats the best plan. Flipping proxies is much more beneficial then keeping them long term in my opinion. Thats what I used to do at least
