Well, i must plug myself Proxy Hosting 50gb BW/$3, Custom Plans
 . My server is optimised for proxy hosting and I definately don't oversell.Adsense earns alot more than adbrite for me. Nearly all clicks are on the main page, hardly any on proxified pages. I use Glype, although the software is getting all the same these days. Take out the word proxy out of your title, meta tags and of course, domain.

Proxy's are the easiest thing to make money with. We have a network of proxys that we put up advertised for a few months then completely stopped advertising and they still bring us good money. It is something that we put up and do not have to maintain them.
In my opinion the best scripts are php proxy. They use less cpu and server resources and are easy to configure. Proxys are not something that you what to just put up how they are installed. You want to limit the downloads a user can have. For instance you dont want them playing games or watching movies. They are intend to surf the net, to get into my space and so on. If you do not limit the down loads then you will find them eating through bw and costing you money. theses are made to make you money not cost you money. Another key factor is to stop all hot linking and php proxy makes a good mod to stop that. Hot linking again can and will eat through you bw and they have been known to search your proxy to a phishing site and then give that url out for people to visit. Now not only are you getting the bw used but now your site will be taken off line for criminal activity. If you use the mod then anyone that trys to hot link will be redirected back to your main index page. There will be no chance of it being used for criminal activity that way. Just to recap, I have been in the proxy business for a long time now so if you dont want to take my advise then that is fine. prevent hot linking limit download size (recommended is 5mb) Do not just install your proxy and leave it, do these 2 things first and then you should have no problems with it.

Good tips Jason, I would also recommend people to follow his tips as I know he is a veteran proxy owner, he hosted my old proxies.
