Looks like they are getting better in catching proxy sites.

There are factors taken into consideration with the software that finds proxies and blocks them.

For example, if it has "Proxy" in the domain name, or anywhere on the site, it's looked at closer.
Also if it's a recognised proxy script then it'll get banned quicker.
The amount of people in each faculty using your proxy (so if you and other people at your school used it a lot, that could have affected it a lot) is another factor.

Probably loads more, these are just ones I picked up on when I was going to get into proxies.

Yeah, there are filters who automatically block the word proxy in a domain, that's why I don't use proxy in domains.

There aren't many proxy scripts to choose from, there is a few well known ones. PHP, Zelune, CGI, Glype (top of my head).

It's funny because I didn't advertise my proxy at my own school.

I know there isn't many proxy scripts to choose from, but adapting them (the HTML code around them anyway, what any robot would see) is always a good idea, means that the common proxy code isn't seen and picked up on by the robot.
I read an amazing article about it when I was going to get into proxies, sounded like the person knew what they were going on about. They recommended to not use the word proxy on your site at all (especially domain) even in alt text, have a good amount of content on there apart from the form (so a good block of text about something, even if it's just about you and your network of sites or something, just trying not to use words like proxy, mask, anonymous browsing, etc.). There was a bunch more, wish I could find that article again, it was pretty damn good

I wonder if just having the word "proxy" on the title will trigger any filters, have to test it.

Has any one used widgetbucks on the proxified pages? I am testing it out on my 5 proxies. Going to build 5 more in a few days. Was going to do them all at once but want to do some promotion for these.

I tried ringtones on the proxified pages. Didn't work, out of 2k+ pageviews got 2 clicks and no leads. So atleast I can make money from the clicks and pageviews with widgetbucks.

I have not heard from them for over a weak now, seems like they are starting to reject proxies now.

Proxy sites are becoming more and more unpopular according to trends. I think more people are using things like VPN and so on.

Thats not really much mate.. You want to be making atleast a dollar a day from each site.

Depends how much work you put into it. $0.15/day is okay if you put pretty much no work into it.
