Every bloggers hits this wall at some point.
In order to be successful in blogs, whatever market you are in, your blog needs fresh content. It's the only way you'll gain or keep subscribers, and increases the chances of returning visitors which could lead to more money for you.
Posting every day is not only boring most of the time but tiresome. De-motivated bloggers can just leave a blog, and a few weeks down the line they end up putting it up for sale.
To prevent this there is something you can do. Write plenty good posts at once, then -
- Either save them as a draft and publish when you're stuck for ideas;
- Set wordpress to automatically publish them in the future.
I'm sure you're aware how to save a post and then later edit it and publish it, but many of you will be un-aware of how to post an article automatically in the future.
Here's how -
- Write your post. Categorise it, tag it etc.
- In the "Post Timestamp" box (expand it if needed), click the checkbox that says "Edit Timestamp".
- Enter in the date and time on which you want the post to future-publish.
- Click "Publish".
When you go to "Manage" in your admin panel, you'll see all posts that have been published, and the ones you set to post in the future will be listed with the status of "Scheduled".
When someone visits your blog after the set date and time of your future post the wordpress cron will automatically post your article.
Hows that? Fresh content on a daily basis.
Those using wordpress to make mini niche resource sites who buy over 20 articles for their sites can do this. It gives guest the impression that a daily bloggers exists.
It allows allows adequate time for indexing. Making 30 posts at once will take time for Google to index them, but 1 post per day for a month looks more natural.
Future posting is not only useful for us lazy bloggers, but useful if you're away. Going on vacation, Christmas, religious festivals....whatever the reason for your absence.
