I have heard from a friend that phpnuke can be used as a Blogging type platform, and that he prefers to use it because he can merge his small discussion board with it without problems.

He hasnt given me his URL yet, Im still waiting on it. Has anyone got experience with phpnuke, and if so is it possible to use it as a blogging platform?

Plain and simple, yes. It uses PHPweblog.

It is CMS so it works only for content management also you can make joomla to a blog but wordpress is the leader in blog
you cant get more features compared to phpnuke so i suggest to stick with wordpress

Definitely wordpress if you want a blog.It is the best CMS for bloggers.

I don't know much about phpnuke. I only used it once to write a news update post for someone when they had a gaming website.
